What Makes Folks'Talks' API Revolutionary?

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

It is already clear that in the absence of a connection between the narrator and his environment, text statistical analysis alone will never be able to guarantee complete understanding. When it comes to the narrator's manner of speech, many factors are lost in translation, including intonation, emotion, accent, pronunciation, all voice components, and many lexical components. Furthermore, it is not uncommon for some narrators to speak unclearly due to health or cultural reasons. Thus, modern voice-to-text systems can hardly handle this challenge.

We are transforming mindless robots into “robo-sapiens”. In other words, the API we provide makes any robot with the appropriate hardware perceptive to its surroundings and to human needs. Among the tasks our "robo-sapiens" can perform or take into account are:

  1. Visual object identification - the process of recognizing and identifying objects within an image or video. It is used in a wide range of applications, from facial recognition to medical imaging. However, we are doing it without text tagging.

  2. Visual properties identification- the process of associating colors, sizes, and other characteristics with objects. We disconnect the sound of the property from the sound of the object that is the carrier of this property (vocal separation/trimming for making ‘intuitive’ Part-of-Speech tagging).

  3. Understanding of object behavioral and existential properties/characteristics - involves recognizing the underlying behavior or attributes that define an object. This includes things such as "a car can move and turn," "a person can give or take," and "a window can be opened or closed by a person". Understanding these properties helps AI systems better understand their environment and the objects within it.

  4. Robot’s self-identification - involves a robot being able to identify itself and its parts and functionality. This defined “personal space” allows the robot to navigate its environment and interact with objects safely and effectively.

  5. Robot’s self-orientation (relative to other objects)- is the recognition of one's orientation in space relative to other objects. This involves understanding the distances and angles between the robot and these other objects so it can properly interact with them. This converts a robot into a kind of GPS origin and it is an important skill for robots to have for navigating their environment accurately.

  6. Understanding the implications of interaction with objects/distinguishing the human user from other objects Attaching a vocal marker to every visually/ behaviorally defined object/property/movement/ownership- allows the API to simultaneously understand emotion, dialect, and meaning during a conversation(vocally based automatic-intuitive PoS tagging).

  7. Defining speech and linguistics patterns (patterns instead of rules)- involves analyzing and understanding the meaning behind spoken words. This includes things such as recognizing slang words, understanding context and interpreting jokes or other figures of speech. This is a skill that is essential for robust AI applications, as it enables them to respond to user inputs accurately.
