Folks’Talks is a revolutionary voice user interface. This interface transforms interactions with an assistant robot into a real human-like experience, allowing you to understand and apply natural speech to your immediate surroundings. You can use the Folks’Talks Voice Interface regardless of your level of expertise in technology and robot maintenance. Simply talk to your robot naturally, and the robot will match your words to objects around you, their appearance, and their behavior. Try Folks’Talks Voice Interface today.
Can a Voice Assistant be Adjusted to the Immediate Environment of a User? Is it Reliable?
A Voice Assistant is a speech-to-text engine that converts your words into letters in the language you define in the settings. By using the Voice Assistant, you can write faster, fill out forms, and engage in preliminary conversations.
When a Voice Assistant is engaged in a conversation, it uses "pure" language models based on statistical analysis. In other words, you can chat with a robot, and it will respond using the most statistically appropriate answer. This type of language isn’t perfect, as the following example illustrates:
Voice Assistant: How are you?
User: I’m not so good today.
Voice Assistant: That’s great!
Here the robot has responded with the most statistically valid answer to the question, “How are you?”. Since most people would reply, “I’m great!” the robot has answered, “That’s great!”
As we can see, the response doesn’t make sense to us humans. This is because the robot uses statistics to answer your question rather than listening to the exact words you say before formulating a response. However, it’s possible to improve robot chatting by addressing their conversational design - human intervention in robot autonomy.
Can the Voice Assistant Be Applied in the Real World to Adjust a Speech to the User’s Situation?
Right now, it’s unlikely, as no one has equipped the Voice Assistant with the right tools yet.
Can We Make Voice Assistant Grasp Reality?
Yes, we definitely can. A Voice Assistant can be rearranged to understand the real world. Understanding is the essence of interaction and self-orientation. To simplify, the scheme of understanding can be represented as follows:
Visual information about a nearby stationary object
Tactile information
Information about interaction with objects
Information about the interactions between objects
Eventually, this collected information accumulates into human spoken language, which is passed from mate to buddy, person to group, and generation to generation.
Considering what has been discussed above, can a voice assistant, that is unadjusted to the real world, serve as a sufficient means for intellectual understanding? It’s a rhetorical question. Does the fact that jungle-adjusted Mowgli does not speak a human language mean that he is unintelligent? This is another rhetorical question.
Therefore, as long as we “feed” our robot with tagged images without letting it accumulate what we refer to as “personal experiences,” the robot will remain unaware of the true meaning behind the words we say and the images we “feed” it.
